Stereospermum (scientific name: Stereospermum suaveolens ) is a medium-sized deciduous tree that grows to a height of approximately 9-18m, with gray to dark brown bark characterized by large, flat, brown scale-like structures. The leaves are simply pinnate, and during the flowering season, large, fragrant flowers bloom, with cylindrical fruits that mature. Found throughout South Asia, primarily in India, it is one of the trees that has traditionally been used in Ayurveda.
